e-Learning platforms (additional info)

I just read that some SA universities (including mine, which is "going into production", at http://www.tectonic.co.za/view.php?id=682) have decided to use the Sakai Project's software for e-learning. Does anyone have concrete experience of it? Any other practical experiences or hints about (for example) Moodle, ATutor or LON-CAPA that might contribute to the discussion during the workshop? Please post as discussion under this article. (Petrus)
